While I was waiting with the dentist yesterday for the sedation to kick in conversation moved onto books. She told me how her  daughter gets lost in a book.  How a day’s enjoyment for this girl would be a visit to the library, return home,  snuggle under her quilt, which her Granny made for her, and occasionally be disturbed with mugs of hot chocolate.

Rainy day reading

I am telling you, this image just stayed with me and I had the most enjoyable visit to the dentist ever!

A book and a quilt, yes that young girl is so right. While recovering this morning from the dental surgery I am curled up under the first quilt I ever made, the rain is teeming down from a dreary grey sky and one of my favourite books, which I have read on numerous occasions, is diverting me from pain.

This is what I call sheer bliss.

  1. You are so right. A book and a quilt on a miserable day. Bliss.

  2. Sounds like the perfect antidote for post dental surgery. Hope you are now recovered.

    1. In the process thanks. However, I may need another book or two.
